Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before joining the Eco Kids family.

How do I know what my CCS entitlements are and how can I calculate what my out of pocket fee will be?

Your Child Care Subsidy (CCS) entitlement is determined by Services Australia based on factors such as your family income, activity level, and the number of children attending care. You can view your current CCS percentage and eligible hours through your myGov account linked to Medicare.

To estimate your out-of-pocket fees, multiply your service’s daily fee by your CCS percentage (up to the applicable hourly rate cap) and subtract the subsidy amount from the total fee. As individual circumstances vary, the most accurate estimate can be obtained through your myGov account or the CCS Calculator available on the Services Australia website.

If you have any questions, you’re more than welcome to visit our centre and chat with our friendly management team.

We provide all meals, sunscreen, a variety of milk options, bedding for rest time, nappies, and wipes.

Families are asked to provide a drink bottle, a change of clothes, any required bottles, a water bottle, formula or breastmilk, a sun hat or warm coat depending on weather conditions and any comfort items their child may need, such as a dummy, sleeping bag, or favourite toy. We recommend packing spare clothing, as children often enjoy messy play and outdoor experiences throughout the day.

Yes! We consult with all families upon enrolment in regards to their children’s dietary requirements and preferences. As all of our meals are prepared fresh on site so our talented cook will prepare meals individually catered for your child’s needs.

If you would prefer to provide your child’s food yourself, you are welcome to do so, keeping in mind not to provide any items containing nuts or nut products.

This is an individual decision based on the family, their needs and circumstances. At Eco Kids ELC, we welcome children from as young as six weeks, up to six years of age – and we do this with great love and care through a number of initiatives.

We focus on creating warm and supportive care relationships, and invest in quality time between your child and their dedicated educators to build bonds and attachments that reduce stress for both you and your child.

Our skilled team will connect with your child and family with expertise, empathy and experience in all four of our developmentally tailored classrooms.

A common myth is that children begin their more significant learning journeys as they prepare to and start primary school – but in fact, learning starts even before birth! At Eco Kids ELC, we are helping prepare children for the exciting transition to school from the very moment they join us. This is not work we do in the last year or two before they start school, but a journey of learning, developing confidence and social and emotional wellbeing from as young as six-weeks of age.

However, as children approach the age of three to five, they are becoming readers, writers, counters and collaborators. The early skills they showed as babies and toddlers are now becoming more defined. That’s why finding a high quality childcare provider, with a funded kindergarten program is so important for your child and developing their love of learning for life.

The Eco Kids Kindergarten Program offers your child all the advantages of structured learning in the lead up to school, while supporting you with the longer care hours found in a childcare setting. That means your child gets the best start to their schooling, while you’re able to better juggle the day-to-day thanks to longer care hours than those provided by community-based preschool and kindergarten programs.

Once enrolled with us you will gain access to the Owna platform where you can communicate directly with your child’s educators and our management team, view daily reflections of what your child’s classroom has been up to as well as your child’s individual learning documentation.

This is also where you will find information regarding updates, centre announcements, upcoming centre events and have the ability to request casual bookings or notify of your child’s absence.

At Eco Kids ELC, we pride ourselves on relationships and there will always be a friendly face to chat to in person.

At Eco Kids ELC, we are very fortunate to have a number of longstanding educators and teachers who hold a minimum of a Certificate III in Early childhood Education and Care, the vast majority holding a Diploma or Early Childhood Teacher qualification. This brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to service, supporting the best quality of care and education for your child.

All of our team also hold up to date First Aid, CPR, and Anaphylaxis/Asthma management training. All team members are also required to complete annual Child Safety and Mandatory Reporting training. This ongoing professional learning ensures that staff maintain current knowledge of their legal and ethical responsibilities, child protection legislation, and best practice approaches to identifying, responding to, and reporting concerns relating to the safety, wellbeing, and protection of children. Ensuring your child is always in safe hands.

*Subsidy rates are subject to individual family circumstances, income levels, and Services Australia assessment. For accurate estimations, please visit the official Centrelink website or contact our centre manager for guidance.
